Experiment 02: Uninfected Macaca mulatta that serve as a control for in vivo biotinylation studies. The macaques received an intravenous infusion of a water-soluble biotin derivative to determine the erythrocyte lifespan via daily quantification of the biotinylated cells using flow cytometry. Clinical, hematological, and metabolomics measures were collected in the course of the follow-up.
